Ksiaz Castle is one of the most beautiful and biggest castles in Europe. It's not only beautifully located on a rock hill with secret tunnels beneath it, it also hides many secrets from its turbulent history.
It is believed that Ksiaz Castle was reorganized to be one of the Adolph Hitler's headquarters...
Sobótka, the Saint Mount of the Slavs is the ancient cult place of the Slav tribes who gathered there during vernal and autumnal equinox to worship their slavic Gods.
Today Sobótka Mount is a very popular tourist spot with picturesque walking paths and a small church on top of it from which tower you can see Karkonosze mountains!
Silver Mountain Fortress is the largest fortress in Europe built in the 18th century with turbulent history, now open to the public.
It's built into a hill in the Sowie Mountains is very well conservated. The nearby town of Srebrna Góra is a beautiful small town with many hotels and picturesque bike trails.
In this less popular spa town right at the Czech border there are countless historical monuments from the German era, spas, exclusive hotels, restaurants, walking, and bike trails through the Isera and Karkonosze Mountains, ski slopes, cable carts, bike single tracks, and so many more attractions
There's even Eva Braun's house you must absolutely visit!
This extraordinary place is a burial place to thousands of people whose real skulls and bones are exposed to the public view. There's no other place in the world where you can see real skulls and bones of so many people!
The Skulls' Chapel is open to public visitors but please beware it's closed on Mondays so plan your visit accordingly.
It's not a well known historical fact but Gross Rosen was the largest group of Nazi concentration camps and force labor camps in the Third Reich era. Gross Rosen was de facto a complex of multiple camps in Europe but its headquarters and main administration center was right there in Rogoznica in Lower Silesia in Poland.
If you're into history you must definitively visit this place!
Świdnica Cathedral is an astonishing example of the excellence in the masonry craft from the Middle Ages that remembers the times of the early Polish Piast dynasty and is one of the oldest and most beautiful monuments on the Polish soil, but it's almost completely forgotten by tourists and therefore it makes it so interesting and worth visiting.
Świdnica Cathedral was built by Duke Bolko II and it's situated right next to the Świdnica Old Market Square with other magnificent monuments and attractions.
Lubiąż Abbey, a Cistercian Monastery, is a masterpiece of Baroque Silesian architecture and it's also the largest Christian architectural complexes in the world! The Lubiąż Abbey is situated near a ford across the Oder river, is a very well preserved and maintained historical monument open to the public.
The history of Lubiąż Abbey dates back to early Middle Ages and even in the 12th century it was considered old. Definitively worth a visit!
